I know companies like STM have frame plugs but has anyone come out with plugs made for the 1098 specifically? I mean with the angled bottom plug. I want the plugs but I won't get them if I don't fill all the holes and I really don't want to have a gap on the angled hole either. Anyone know?

Nothing huh. So everyone one here just keeps them with the gap?

I have not seen angled ones yet... Try emailing STM, they are pretty good with replying to questions I have asked.

Oops

Just realized I spaced on the gas cap...sorry man, it's Light Tech. You can call Miles tomorrow if you want a price, it looks great on your bike. Hectic day, didn't mean to leave you hangin!

I don't believe STM makes that cap and I'm not sure if anyone will be able to fabricate something for it. Would be nice but I haven't seen one yet.

P.S. If you go with the Light Tech gas cap, you want to use the factory gasket along with theirs. That's what my tech did and I've had no problems...my buddy (1098) did not and he thinks he's been getting water in his tank.

I actually prefer the look of the frame as it is, with the "holes". To me, it says, "lightweight".

Hey, it's painted, so I don't need to worry about corrosion. I'm not taking a cotton swab to clean them out, either; I'm not trailering it to a concours event.

Looks to be some nice stuff that guy handles. I don't care much for those frame plugs he offers myself, I mean the look is ok but I like the STM ones better so I bought those. Those studded pegs are really an eyesore!

Looks to be like some quality carbon though and I really like the clutch covers.

Jason

ps. I do like the fact that the frame plugs are slanted though... I just skip those two when I installed my STMs.

Ya know the more I look at them they aren't really that bad but I still like the STM ones better. That guy really does make some nice stuff!

nice that they are shaped to the lower frame shapes, but I like the STM's with the locking tightening screws.

Personally I don't like the look of frame plugs, they look like afterthoughts. And I kind of like the look of the open holes, sort of industrial looking. Now, if someone comes out with CF plugs I'd reconsider....any word on the street Guido?

^^^ They look pretty nice. How do the slanted ones fit there at the bottom? Looks to be a good fit and all.

Jason

ps. Here are mine BTW.

Hi All,

I haven't bought any yet for the same reason, i like the STM ones but I know they don't fit the bottom angled hole. If anyone finds any like Jason's or the STM ones that fit the angled one also, I'll be in the queue to buy somewhere.

I'm not 100% sure but I think someone on here used the STM ones in the bottom hole as well, I doubt it was a perfect fit though.

Personally I don't mind the bottom one not having a plug in it since it is only one per side, the hole is much bigger, I don't think it looks out of place.

Just me though...
