So which would be ideal for track duty with the occasional street ride?

I would go for the 18...275cca... mine works great on my 848 and 1098R....also the charging system is a snap... just leave the charge pigtail attached to the battery...Use the store function until it is time to ride then switch to charge for about an hour....BOOM.. instant start!!!!

You will not be disappointed!! Wait until you see the difference, the instructions in the owners manual are very good!
