i think it really depends on the rider and what kind of riding you're going to be doing. i had a 2008 hypermotard 1100 first and that was a great bike. i upgraded to a 2013 hypermotard evo sp 1100 and i like it way better. the suspension is better and adjustable, the brakes are way better, and its a significant amount lighter. i am not sure the average rider would notice the difference between the two bikes though. The regular hypermotard 1100 is plenty for most riders and has lots of torque. they say the 900 is slightly faster top end but has much less torque. i personally like the 1100 so i have never ridden any of the other set ups.
