Guys I am swapping out the gas tank on my 848. The new tank is bare and I plan on swapping out fittings/parts/cap from current to new tank. Is there anything I need to replace at this point such as gaskets etc?
I'd order up two replacement fuel fittings so if you nick an o ring, you've got some spares. They're cheap enough to keep around and use if you need them. I'd also order a new fuel pump plate gasket. You don't need it because they snap together pretty well, but again it's just a precaution just incase you nick it when re-installing. The pump comes out of the tank pretty easily, just remember to move over the two little pins that hold the front of the tank into the rubber sliders. Can't tell you how many time's I've done tank swaps and forgotten to swap those! EEK!
