Took my wife for about a 15 mile ride to warm it up to do the 600 mile oil serv.
When we got to the driveway, she lepped off just like a cartoon, slapping her a$$ saying "Ow, Ow Ow, thats HOT!!!". And it is way hotter "back there" then the frunt seat. The heat is mostly from the plastice. It has been my experence that CF insolates way better then plastice.
So I guess the pipes to the CF cans get ceramic, and I will be looking for a under tail heat sheild.
When I put the CF cans on 998 it helped, but its a mono.
Any input? And no, the Bitch dont stay home, case she is not a Bitch.
And yes she has her own 250 Ninja, but some times it nice to go for a little ride two up, and get a squezz.

Ted -- That's great! Other than the heat, how does she like the bike?
My suggestion is to buy some thermo tec in sheets -- http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+400356+115+4294845359 --- and
simply stick it to the underside of the tail, and/or in the little storage compartment that
the passenger seat is on.
That should cure it.
Thanks Paul,
She Loves is because I love it. See is so cool that way.
She is 5'8" so she is way up. Not to comffy, but will go any time, but want that temp thing under control.

No "E" on the end of control, I had a friend tell me.

My wife is about 5'10 so she's waaaaayyy up there. She doesn't really complain about the heat ( yes she can feel its warm ) but certainly doesn't jump up and down saying its burning. She does say that she doesn't enjoy riding 2 up though....claiming its very uncomfortable, she slides all over the place and there's nothing to hold on to. I also hate it when she rides with me cause she always slides hard into me and pushes my nuts against the tank when I brake and when I accelerate too hard she gets thrown back and pulls the bike into a wheelie too easy. One of these would help.

yea tell me about it my ex is 5'11 and im 5'7, she keeps asking for a ride. She looks absolutely rediculous on the back of any bike ive taken her on, if she acts up i can just head butt her in the stomach, or ride to close to a street sign.

I have my pillions lean forward and place their hands on the tank on the seldom events when I get conned for taking them for a ride so they take their own weight when I brake, they are also tucked in better and gives me more feel.

slapping her a$$ saying "Ow, Ow Ow, thats HOT!!!"
YEAH BABY!!! give me some of that hot a$$.

do those handles remove easily? looks goofy, but useful
I dont really know anything about this product cause everyone I show it to just laughs but I agree it would be very useful. Looks like it slots into the frame holes where most people install frame plugs so hopefully its easily removable, I certainly wouldn't install it if it wasn't. I'd also hope that its secure cause there would be quite a lot of stress on it when the pillion pulls on them during acceleration.

I do that too, but I am concerned about her scratching the tank. I'll need to find her a soft pair of gloves.

Gave my girlfriend a ride the other day. She does the tank lean thing but it doesn't help me much. I'm taking a lot of weight on my forearms and wrist. It was so uncomfortable. I've got carbon cans so she didn't complain about heat. She did, however, complain about the seat digging into her crotch. It has that peak in the middle (not flat) which is kinda a bad design.
