A new product, a single axis gimbal, went on sale from a company MOTOGYROVISION.com last Monday (04/20/2015).

This product is for GoPro cameras only.

I ordered one and it arrived today (04/23/2015).

It was very nicely packaged.

I plan to test in out in a couple of weeks while doing a track day at Cressen Motorsports Park, TX. Cressen is quite a bumpy track, so it should get a good work out on my Ducati 1098.

So this past Sunday I got to try the MotoGyroVision GoPro mount at Cresson Motorsports Ranch, TX., on my 2007 Ducati 1098S. This was kind of a private Ducati track day organized by our local Ducati shop.

The track is quite bumpy, but the main problem, with the quality of the video is my bike. I'm having a front end chatter issue which I can't seem to fix. Not sure if it's the tire, I taken it off twice and checked the balance, or the forks. I recently had an Ohlins FG511 rebound/compression valve upgrade kit installed in the forks and that's when my chatter started, but that was the same time the new tire went on.

Anyway, considering how much front end vibration was going on, the MotoGiroVision camera mount worked flawlessly. My first couple of sessions, I didn't get the mount tight enough between the RAM GoPro mount and the MotoGiroVision and the camera just flopped forward. I did manage to get it tight enough for a couple of sessions and below is the video from one of them. Starts off slowly as I didn't have my tire warmers, so I am super slow for the first couple of laps and then progress up to being not quite so slow.

The battery, on the MotoGyroVision, lasted about 90 minutes. I probably should have recharged it between sessions. I've since ordered a cable, that MotoGyroVision sells, that will use external power for both the Gyro and the Camera.

Here's how I had the camera mounted

Here's the video

I have some Pirellis being delivered this week. The GP211's have just completed 4 track days, so they'll be taken off and hopefully that'll cure some of the problem.

If not, I'll be trying to see why the FG-511 valves are performing poorly. I never had this issue with my OEM Ohlins forks.
