Thats what happens if the cable is loose. The dash isn't getting any data from the ECU.

Unfortunately, I've never had a 749/999 with the stock fairing stay, so I don't know how you access the connector. But I'd first get to the connector unplug it, clean out the pins (on the dash side) with contact cleaner and plug it back in again.

My guess is, its a faulty dash. They've been starting to fail, there are a bunch of people on other forums with issues. But give it everything you can to check over everything before calling it a failure.

Lift the clocks off. they come out with a little force and check the cable is plugged in the back of them properly.
+1

and if that do not help, check grounding wires on LCD wire loom cables + ECU grounding point (the one with ring terminal that goes to negative terminal to ECU).

The wacky "full digit" syndrome is either LCD data connectivity issue or grounding/noise.

ECU is not the suspect.

Thanks for the reply guys. Any idea what color that wire is? I pulled the dash off and then plugged it back in to make sure it's not something as simple as that.

I think you guys are right though because it varies a lot, yesterday it went from looking like it was "bleeding" everywhere to only the top row of each line working as I rode along, making me think something is just loose.
