So I basically have the duc sold, but the sale is riding on if it runs. With the clutch as is, it does not run. I have the clutch cover off and all the damaged debris out. Can anyone walk me through getting it so the bike at least runs?

And fyi, I have ridden the ninja a bit with a friend. I'm still nervous specifically when I get to the spot where I dropped the duc but I'm getting there. As much as I'd like to hold on to him he's just wasting away in my garage and I'm honestly not sure if I will ever get the balls to get on him again. I'd rather the bike go to a home where it will be appreciated and actually ridden and not just looked at.

Technically the bike will run without a clutch. Remove all the spring caps and springs as well as all the plates. This should allow you to run the engine, albeit not ride it. The clutch basket looks like it has even spacing all the way around compared to the case cover, but watch the movement of the clutch basket during the first second or two of cranking. If it rubs on the case cover do not start the bike. Remove the basket, before running the engine.
If you want to ride it there is a clearly a bit more to do.
Pull the clutch rod out of the center of the clutch assembly and roll it on a flat surface. A piece of glass works well for this. If it is bent it will roll wonky. If so replace that as well. Remember orientation is important when putting it back in so make a note of the little sealing o rings and what side they are on. Replace in the same orientation when reassembling the clutch.
You can remove the next central nut and then the clutch hub will come out. Keep the little washers and remember the order they come out. The broken spring towers indicate the clutch hub must be replaced to make the clutch functional. You do not need to remove this to make the engine run.
From what the picture looks like. To get back to riding able, I would say you need the previous mentioned hub, a new pressure plate as the missing bits will put it off balance. A new set of 6 springs and caps. The clutch basket and plates look pretty good to me, but if the basket is bent replace that as well. That might get it back to running and riding. Good luck Brad.

How do I take the rod out, I'm a bit stuck. How do I remove the old pressure plate? If I put the remaining springs back and put the clutch cover on can I run it just not drive it?

Picture one above has the pressure plate, two caps and two springs in place. Picture two has the pressure plate, caps and springs removed. The rod appears to have come out with the pressure plate.
Your last question is how do I get this off. Pic 5.
Remove the clutch plates. The plates with all the teeth and the ones with the tabs. U need to use a clutch hub holder and an air gun, or hammer drill with a hardened socket. There are write ups on how to do this without the holder. I am now of the opinion that this is above your ability as a mechanic. Please try to use the search function for this forum for more details.
All u need is there in the fourth and fifth picture: hub, springs caps and bolts, and pressure plate in picture 5.
The Basket only needs to be changed if it is bent.

Do not start the bike without removing the clutch plates. Do not just remount the pressure plate with the two springs. What ever you do not reassemble part way and then cover it up with the clutch cover. No one will know what is missing inside and some one will get hurt.

Please take this vehicle to a mechanic that can help u. Brad

No time or money for a mechanic. Thanks anyway. A gentleman from the forum actually helped me.

The springs were screwed in just to keep everything together during shipping.

I would be happy to send him money. I wasn't planning on selling it when he gave me the parts. This was a last minute decision because the bike is sitting in my garage still broken.

If you remember my family and friends and a lot of people on here told me to sell it and I refused. Selling the bike was not in the cards until Friday

I'm sorry to see you're selling it. I was hoping you would get it back together and get the bug again.
Don't make this any harder guys! Lol! My friend who has been helping me with the ninja could barely get me to ride in a parking lot. I just don't think I'm cut out for a ducati. I worry too much about the what is to enjoy it :-(
