When I get on my bike and try to ride it feels like it is running on 1 cylinder. You can smell it's rich and see the black puffs of smoke when I shift. It runs so poor I can barely pull out without stalling. I have to ride the clutch bad. Any ideas of where to start looking? Around 140 degrees it backfires a bit not hard but a bit and then it runs fine again.

Hmm, I doubt it. If it has enough power to start the motor, I'd think it has enough to run the electronics properly.

thanks

I put in the new plugs yesterday and it runs great. Thanks for the input. Now lets see how long they stay clean...?? The plugs look like it has a running rich issue. But I'm not the first owner so I'll see what they look like in a couple thousand miles and go from there.
