I am clearly not an expert (perhaps someone more qualified can answer) but I believe that a certain amount of back-pressure is required for the exhaust flow to function correctly.

I personally would not mess with the stock pipes.

Now, if you decided to go with a full termignoni exhaust system ... :smoking:

Yes, a reputable motorcycle exhaust repairer could do the job of modifying the baffles (not just the cats) for 10 - 15% of the cost of termis without ruining the running of the bike. Just don't expect the exact sound of termis - you won't get the really deep rumble.

I must say that louder is always better in city riding. Not all of us can spend sixteen large for a "track only" bike. Wish I could. But I cant.

This is my "HHmmmm... no rain? Today I'm riding!" bike.

I have the Termi Slipons and they are very loud. Loud enough that when I pull up to a light, other people around turn and look to see whats making all that noise.

In the busy traffic of SoFlo, its nice to be seen. Even nicer to be heard and seen.

I have done a few OEM cans to straight through conversion; you will need an ecu to make it run like it should once you have gutted it!!!!! Power commander III is not up to the task with the OEM ECU it only works after 19% of throttle and 5250RPM………

RaceComp also make carbon tubes that fit both Termi and STD Ducati cans, we can do a change over set or convert your own cans for a fraction of the cost of a Termi slip-on system!!!

Can somebody say... That's wrong. it's like owning a fake Rolex. If you can't afford the real thing why bother faking it. people who know termi, will know they are fake.
Just opt for the cat removal.

Had my std cans gutted, the bike sounds great very similar to termi cans. Got an immediate 9hp increase on the dyno! Had a PC3 fitted to run the cans. (ps. you can map the pc3 blow 5250 rpm, its just that your dyno guy must know how to do it!). Don't get me wrong, Termis are awesome and it would be great if we could all afford to fit them, but luckily the std cans give you a similar look and by gutting them you get a similar sound to the termis.:D
