If you set up the suspension and steering properly, drop in some S cams and a 50mm full system and you can ride....you'll do ok.

The "R" cams being mentioned are 996r/Euro 998s cams. They are also in the 998r and 999s through '04 and in the '05/'06 999.

At least with the 999 "R" cam's, you can sometimes find them on ebay.

Only the "999r" cams from '03 and '04 (which are the same as 996r/Euro 998s cams)are plug and play for the 998 motor. The '05/'06 cams require valetrain mods and the increased maintenance associated with it.
