I've not been able to get an answer as to how many of the Tricolore versions of the 1098s are out there in the world.

Does anyone have the exact number that were built? Where did you get your information? No rumours just hard verifiable facts please and thank you.

Lots of rumours............no hard facts. Why don't you email Ducati in Italy

Before I bought one, no dealer could give me an official answer - just opinions. I suspect there isn't any official word on how many were to be produced. By now Ducati probably knows but it' probably won't become public knowledge.

TC,

That's true, but Ducati's published production numbers are notoriously unreliable. According to my salesman, production run for the '07 TC will be somewhere around 300 units. After that, there will, (probably), be no more. I say, "probably," because, while the TC is supposed to a first year only, limited edition run, the F1 750 Tricolore was ultimately offered for three years, (1985/6/7)

This is the 3rd time Ducati has offered a limited production, Italian flag, "TC", paint scheme during the first year of a model run. In 1985, Ducati offered the F1 750 in a limited edition "TC" paint scheme. (The F1 750 TriColore was also available as a limited edition "TC" in model years 1986 and 1987.) This was followed in 1988 by a limited edition "TC" 851. Here's a couple of links to see what they look like:

On the heels of the success of the 1098s TC, Ducati released a TC Monster for model year '08. Like all other TCs, the TC monster is a limited edition model, available only as an upgrade to the top-of-the-line monster, the S4RS. Here's a link to the TC monster:

The Tricolore is one beautiful bike!

I'm not so sceptical.

Elton Hi,

I'm a little kinder to the accuracy of Ducati's production figures than you, but that's just a personal view. From memory they never quoted a production life for the F1750 TC, so it's irrelevant to the 1098TC IMO.

The figures from DNA, seem as accurate as most information that I've read relating to them of this site. In the UK, we received just over 100 TC's, so if DNA are to be believed that only left around 200 for the rest of the world.......oh lucky us.

Either way, there's not many of them, and only time will tell if they produce any more.........certainly haven't heard of any '08 versions.

One thing though, they certainly are beautiful............now stop arguing or else I'll have to tell your friend Von

production numbers accuracy

TC,

I hear ya. The reason I say Ducati's produciton numbers are known for being unreliable is because Ian Faloon, (Aka, "Mr. Ducati"), the source of all the Ducati production numbers I see posted here and elsewhere on the internet, the man who's made a career out of compiling this information and cataloging all things Ducati, talks about this unreliablility in his books. Of course, that's typically in reference to older models, where information is less accurate. Let's hope that Ducati has joined the 21st century and has accurate bookkeeping methods. I'm not holding my breath!

Theres close to if not more than 2000 made, come on guys if you think you have bought a limited number bike, think again, they were limited to 2007 only so make and sell as many as you can. If they are making over 1000 1098r they would have trebled that with tricolores. Lets have a bet I would say 2000 made

Wrichars,

Thanks for the exact number. I'd say 1000+ bikes is a limited production run. At any rate, certainly a whole lot more "limited" than the bejillion GSXRs Suzuki made, don't ya think?
