How many mile or KM can you go on reserve ? Trip fuel start when the reserve level is reached but how far can I go ?

Also, other that Trip fuel....there is no fuel gage ???

I have fuel gauges on 2 other bikes and they aren't accurate, I know only by the trip how many kms are left even when I switch reserve on. For my 1098 I'm working on 16KPL for the moment and that is conservative for highway running. I wouldn't at this early time in the game do a jump of more than 200kms without backup of some kind, but that's me.

Also the reserve "light" should only be relied on in town where there is fuel available soon. It has a mind of its own and will come on at differing milage. I always hit trip "A" at fuel stops, and use trip "B" for overall kms on a run.

My dealer said the light goes on at half tank. I gone 20+ up to 30 on reserve.:moped:

I don't know how big the tank is, but my light came on and I went another 18 miles, then when I filled up, I only got 3 gallons in there. So if it is a 4 gallon tank, it seems that the light cam on with 1.5 gallons or more left in the tank.

book says reserve is 4 liters, which is a pitch over a gallon for us US guys. I went 21.5 miles on reserve yesterday with no problem. Forget how much I put in after that.

With normal highway driving I filled my bike up, drove 30 miles, and it took 0.85 gallons to top off. So if the reserve is a little over one gallon I would think we should get at least 30-35 miles, maybe a little more out of reserve.
