I've done extensive searching and I can't find a good site to buy accessories and performance parts for this model bike. I'm conducting some research before I buy either a 748/916/996/998 or a 749/999 and I'm just struggling to find parts in general.

Where do you go for parts? What usually wears out? What's a good upgrade? How reliable?

i totally agree with bellisimoto having great parts for the bike. I have also found good parts on Ebay, Gotham, and just asking on forums like this place.

As in parts? What are the usual failures that should upgraded? Or good parts that make the bike more user friendly. What are the best upgrades that make the bike better kinda stuff.

hid lights help at night a lot. helps to know model and year. as for failures, a lot will have to do with how well previous owners took care of it. check your oil screen every couple of months for chrome pieces, indication of flaking rockers.
