I would like to say I have the money to buy a new 1098S, but the fact is I don't.

I do own a very tidy 98' Suzuki TLR1000 with a load of after market goodies which I would be trading in on it but I'm still short.

I know Ducati's hold there value better then other bikes, but how much do you guys think the 1098S will depreciate over the next two years.

As that's when I'm looking at buying one second hand one.

For now, I'm still going to upgrade but to a 99' 996SPS with all the after market goodies included for $19,000 aust.

The 999 isn't an option for me as I just like the look of it.

Excellent choice on the SPS.

The 1098s should hold their value comparatively well. The 08s are already scheduled for early release with a significant price increase. However, there will be bargains out there as first time superbike owners learn the realities of riding a race bike on the street.
