Hypermotard SP Termignoni and Inspection

Hi, New guy here and I tried to search for this and I didn't really find any useful information regarding MD state inspection and the full Termignoni Exhaust system.

Long story short. Bought a 2013 Hypermotard SP with the full Termignoni on it. Should I put the stock pipe and headers back on or will it pass inspection? has anyone had any issues or experience with a full exhaust system?

thanks

As a fellow resident of the peoples republic of MD, I will say it's probably going to entirely depend on the individual that does the inspection. I have never had a modified bike inspected but I did have a car with fully modified exhaust system pass. But I took it to a rural shop in woodsboro where I knew the guy was going to be chill about it. If memory serves, MD state law explicitly prohibits, among other things, any and all motor vehicle exhaust mods from OEM (could be wrong there and the case may different for something pre MD inspection but that's what I recall from researching it a while back). Of course, drive anywhere in MD and you immediately know that if that is the law, it isn't enforced at all practically. They don't hook the bike up to any tech inspection systems that I know of and motorcycles don't need to go through VEIP so I'd say if you put the silencers in it, you should be ok.

Maybe pick a couple inspection locations and wander in to chat the tech up saying something to the effect of "I'm thinking about buying a bike from out of state with a full exhaust system, will that pass inspection in MD?" Couldn't hurt to ask...
