If you misplace/loose your keyless ignition device, you need access to the switch to activate the electrics to enter your PIN to start the bike...I think it's because it's not really needed.
It's not 'Fake'... It is a 'backup' electrics switch if you loose or misplace your 'Switchblade'...that plastic ignition fake key thing is fugly.
I meant 'fake' in that it's not actually a key... I didn't mind the look when it was a button but for some reason they had to go with something that 'kindof' looks like a key, and rotates like a key. Not sure exactly why... but something about it bugs me, maybe because the whole thing strikes me as redundant, why not just use the button on the bars for both switchblade and non-switchblade powerup? It's not 'Fake'... It is a 'backup' electrics switch if you loose or misplace your 'Switchblade'...
Highly doubt Ducati intended it to resemble a key...I meant 'fake' in that it's not actually a key...
Why design it that way at all then... the actuation appears to have been changed to mimic a key (unless you have another viable reason). The button on the older bikes worked fine.Highly doubt Ducati intended it to resemble a key...
