Hello Folks. First post here.
About a month ago, I noticed that my bike had a flat so I decided to take it to the dealer to replace it under the insurance I purchased. When I left the dealer, I was called and told that the Struts were bleeding oil and they have oil all over the place. Mind you I drove the bile there after putting some air in the rear tire. $1100 dollars later (New Forks and Break Pads due to oil spill,) it got the bike back and drove it home. They did tell me that they have issues with the battery not charging. I previous had the same issue and put the battery on a trickle charger. I decided to replace the battery as it's one of the simplest things you can do with most vehicles.
I took out the Negative first and then the positive, then the bracket to get the battery out. I put everything back and and started the bike. I noticed that the bike would start and run, but the instrument panel did not come on.
Also, noticed that the headlights don't come one. I figured that maybe I just have to ride it a few miles for the ECU to catchup. I did that and nothing. I left it over night and the next morning took it to the dealer.
Now the dealer wants to replace the instrument panel, claiming that it has shorted out. Initially, they told me that it's probably a blown fuse. I'm looking at $2200 and change since the Oil and Front tiers also need to be changes. Mind you that that bike was there about 2 weeks ago and had not been ridden more than 5 miles.
Any ideas?
