Good afternoon Gents,


Wanted to get some your takes on getting the Duc up and running, just moved out to california from hawaii......shes been sitting in the garage for about a year due to some Military/family obligations and what not......I did lay her down when I got out here but mainly was all cosmetic that I know of, after I ended up driving her home.

But I finally took her apart and cleaned her up a bit...I did notice oil leaking....I know sometimes things leak when oil is not in circulation seems to be coming from the drain plug though.....and the closest shop to me is about an hour away....

Anything you guys recommend being cautious of before I change the oil out and wake her up from the slumber.....anything helps....

Its most likely the drain plug copper crush washer, it eventually starts to leak. What I'd do is very carefully take the bottom fairing pieces off and trace where the oil is coming from. If you don't seen any trail, then most likely its simply coming from that seal. If you do see a trail, then back track it. My 848 always had a drip of oil under it, from the day it was rolled out of the shop when I bought it brand new, to the day I parted it. :shrug:
