Hey guys ive been thinkin about this day since I was 15. I picked up an 08 yellow 1098 with 5k. it sucks that I have to wait to ride it but I can stare at it all day.

I also have a question for you guys, I was looking through my papers from the dealer and it sais 1098S on all the papers. Now I had to go look at everything over and I don't see any ohlins shocks. is there something wrong here or are??

That's definitely not a S version. Did the dealer tell you it's a S? Or does it just say that on the paperwork?

Congrats on the new bike! If it were an S it would have the Ohlins suspension and some carbon bits, I hope they didn't jack up the price on it and sell you on the premise that it was an S. Regardless, still a beautiful, low-mileage find in a rare color; that's winning!

Thanks. No i bought uit as a 1098 base its just on the paperwork but my insurance company ran the vin and its comin up as a S model too

Nope lol that was at the bmw dealer i bought the bike from i shouldve asked more about that one

That is freakin weird. I bought an 1198 about 2 years ago, from a ducati/bimota dealer up on the Sunshine Coast (Qld). Bike was priced as an 1198, but paperwork definitely says 1198S! It's insured as an 1198, but the government registration paperwork says 1198S. I don't know why.
It is the base model.

Thats really weird i wonder if that affects insurance pricing seeing as its a more expensive bike on paper. Did they even make a yellow S i thought they were only red or black

It sure does affect the insurance, at least where I'm at.

I dont think so the triples match the frame vin i have to pull the fairings to change the batt and add a usb so ill check the engine too
