Why can’t you ride it? Are you assuming seals etc would need replaced from age and sitting?

Heads will be corroded from the coolant issue. Will need a total rebuild.

Did Ducati do anything for the bikes affected by this corrosion? Sad that this new in crate bike is doomed before ever being ridden.

It's not new. It was purchased by a guy, left in the crate, and he passed away from my understanding. His wife enlisted the dealer to sell it.

Doesn't a crated bike come in bone dry? That would make sense to me. Then the dealerships top them up with fluids. If not, that is unfortunate indeed.

Mostly correct I believe, my understanding is, guy bought it and passed away, wife sold it to someone else and he is now trying to sell it likely after learning of catastrophic damage from the corrosion in engine. Sad part is seller is not disclosing that to potential buyers so hopefully someone does their homework prior to buying. Apparently when the crate was inspected blue antifreeze could be seen leaking out-that can’t be good.

Why would someone add fluids to a bike still in the crate? This sounds "off."
