The most I have heard of is 205mph. A serious "no fear" biker.

True, I dont know?

What I have seen is while doing 130mph / 210 kmh on my 1098, another 1098 passed me, I felt as if I was looking for parking.he he.. He confirmed afterwards he was clocking 165mph / 265kmh. ........believable.....

I was led to believe that the bike cannot go 205mph with stock drivetrain. Even with 6th gear, the engine will redline and top out before reaching that speed even if it somehow is getting abnormal amounts of power or you somehow turned your bike into a feather with 160hp. The bike needs different sprocket(s) or some kind of different gear ratio to do so, because if my calculations are correct you would need to be revving the bike at over 15,000 rpm to reach that speed in 6th and the redline is 14,000 correct?

My brain hurts. Those are just estimates by the way, noone bark at me! Just going on memory because I havn't ridden my bike in a while.

If you use the gear commander data theoretical top speed in 6th is 180.6 miles an hour but changng sprokets should push you past the magic 187.5+ (300+ kph).

Ive had mine up to 222kph in forth with my wife on the back with first rev warning light on my wife was buzzing for hours afterwards he he:naughty: BTW red line is 10700rpm

With a headwind, it quit pulling at an indicated 176mph. With a tailwind, I shut it down at 175 and it was still pulling hard.

174 is the number I heard.

The bike doesn't have enough power to make it even close to 200mph, even if you geared it to go that fast.

Don't trust the speedo though, GPS is the way to go.

I've had mine reading 167 before, it had some left but not a lot. She gets to 150 pretty quick though!

My 600RR does 160 (I know this for a fact, hate to admit) so I am hoping the 1098 goes faster than that.

I got a 166 as indicated on the dash of my 999s. I would guess that if you got 175 on a 1098 that would be really good. I have "only" seen a 142 so far. Too many coppers out this summer not worth the risk for me. My buddy got a 147 as indicated on a straight ( on his 1098) during a track day. In the same spot, I was only getting a 130 on my 999s.

Hi,

191mph is all I saw in Europe... windy day with luggage made the bike sway a bit too much for my broken wrist... fun though. Lost 1.5mm of tread in 5 miles at that speed.
Staggered how much the rear tyre wore. But Suzuki do quote a new rear tyre will last 25 seconds at top speed on a Hayabusa !

Just looked at my DDA figures from Yesterday, 174mph, but the day previous my brother was behind me on his Repsol CBR1000RR showing 185mph on his speedo and could not catch me.On a track of course.

hey i was wondering if u guys can tell me whats the max u've taken your 1098 to.
We got mine to 168.3 @ the Bonneville speed week, on the rev. limiter.
CW says 174 on the limiter. So 6 MPH wheel spin.
Next year its going with a 520 chain and quick chaing rear sprocket, with 1 and 2 teath smaller. :naughty:
