The adjustment of the idle and throttle sync face forwards.
They are accessed under the steering head, where the cables meet the linkage.
From memory the most forward one is the idle setting, the further in one is the throttle sync. Adjust this one with caution.
Bear in mind that the carbs do not usually need much adjustment on these.
Idle and low-speed running often are symptoms of poorly adjusted valve clearances. I would check those before altering the carburation.
I serviced these models for many years, and rarely needed to alter carburettor settings.
The best improvement is to replace them with (non-CV-type) Keihin FCRs.
The other is to replace the weak stock coils with stronger Dynas or Bosch 40Ts.
A careful reset of the valves and a set of coils usually brings them to life.
