I've found a '17 Monster 1200S, red, with only 1,000 miles, excellent condition, garage kept, owned by a guy that's over 65. It's got streamlined turn signals and a Termignoni exhaust, which the owner said cost $2500. The asking price is $12,000.

I've never owned a Ducati, but this seems like a decent deal...any advice?

Not that it makes any difference, but I've got an Indian Roadmaster touring bike, so the Monster would something to play around on.

Get a helmet with a dark screen or a built-in sun visor as your going to see the sky a lot in the first few gears.

Best motorcycle in the world from a pure riding point of view, I have an M 1200 S STRIPE and a black 1200 R. That price is more than fair. With the right outside air temp, these bikes can wheelie off the power in 1st, 2nd ,3rd and 4th. Good luck with the purchase !!
