Does anyone have any idea how to squeeze more power out of my 01 M600
Cheap or not, do you think it would make appreciable gains? (Greater than 3-5%)You can start with a full aftermarket exhaust, score something off ebay. Then you can have someone re-jet it for that exhaust, which isn't too difficult. Putting better air filters on will also help considerably. IDK man, sounds doable to me for not much money, assuming you can do the work yourself and find an exhaust cheap.
So they 'filter' better ?..... Putting better air filters on will also help considerably. .......
A lot of people don't have the wherewithal to purchase a new motor (or bike) and install it. They also don't need MUCH more power, they're just looking for something more snappy in response and a bit more fun to ride. Aftermarket exhausts, fueling modifications and even less constrictive air filters, these things do help and at minimal cost as well.Cheap or not, do you think it would make appreciable gains? Unless it's an insurance restriction (or liscencing issue) there's no replacement for displacement.

One minor correction, it's an 01' which is EFI. My bad!![]()
This was the point of my query. An EFI tune with upgraded exhaust and intakes will only net 1-2hp. While the 'snappiness' might make it seem like more. But with an entry level model, and one that is 14 years old, best upgrade is a newer, bigger model. The price difference will be negligible compared with spending $$ on upgrades. And let's face it, an M600 is great, but won't ever be like a newer model.Yep you can probably go from 58 hp up to about 63
Only cost a few thousand...

45 mm throttle bodies and new injectorsSo, how do you do the re-jetting?
Me too… That's what got me thinking it was a carbureted machine.Fwiw I thought the 620 was the first baby efi motor, had not seen an efi 600
Seems to be an epidemic on this forum.45 mm throttle bodies and new injectors
Plus he corrected himself suggesting it was his mistake not picking up the efi part.
Tell me.... What more would you require for an answer. If it was retro edited you would complain and cry foul.. He admits the error and you still complain.

Only agree a little because sometimes I agree with bob and his fanboysadjective
1.
Also, epidemical. (of a disease) affecting many persons at the same time, and spreading from person to person in a locality where the disease is not permanently prevalent.
2.
extremely prevalent; widespread.
Isn't it more limited? I mean in balance its just one person and his fan clubs both pro and against?
