I have recently purchased my 2014 1200s GT in May. I have been on a few trips this summer and now due for my 7500 mile service. Not thinking much of it I brought it down to my dealer to have the work done. I was shocked to find out that this service will cost me just over $900. I was told they needed to check and perhaps replace the belt/chain, change the oil and look at a few other things. All this would consume about 5.5hrs of labor.

Am I getting played for a fool?
If so what should be the average price for this service?

Thanks

Sounds expensive . did they say belt/ chain or is that your words.
They really should know that belts are at 15Kmiles. 7.5K service is oil & filter and general check over. Mine was £350 including REXXER remap

Service.

It's about $300 too much.
Belts are at 15000 miles or 5 years now. That's the price for a 15000 mile check. Find a different dealer. If you can.

That is what I say, as I was not paying to much attention due to the price that was in front of me. That price you payed seems more reasonable.
thanks
