It doesn't rain here in So Cal, so I never got to ride/race on the track when raining.
Sounds like you had fun and yes, riding in the wet is very good learning because of the reduced grip. You understand how to be smoother on the brake actuation and throttle control. The few times I've ridden on the streets in torrential down pour has been a lot of fun.
