Hey everyone.
I paid a deposit for my new 1098 a few weeks ago and I sold my CBR1000RR to do it.
I wanted the black S model but my dealer told me they were the holy grail of bikes and cant get it. So I told him to call me with whatever shows up next. I want the yellow one if it shows up and I have a choice though.

I have been riding all of my life and have owned dozens of bikes, but never a Ducati. I have wanted one, but the maint. expense used to scare me. Now I am so excited and every time my phone rings I am hoping that its the dealer.

Anyway,
Just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that I will be on here quite a bit in the near future, so I might as well sign up now.

Your right about the black ones.. I originally asked for Black, but 4 weeks later I optd for Red. I didn't regret it one bit.

I think my dealer sold about 20 Duc's, he's got a TC, and 2 Yellow left..

You just wait til your first ride. I'd like to hear from you again then!

I hear you... I'm still waiting for my first duc. I put a deposit 3 weeks ago. Sitting at home playing Moto GP sucks!!! compared to the real thing.

Well,Let me tell you. I've wanted a Duc for about 12 years.. When searching for my first DUC (Let alone first bike) :I wanted to choose a used 999 or 749. However to my luck nobody had any used DUC's laying around. So I had to UPGRADE 1098 style. Oh yeah and SHE IS YELLOW. My color choice (I just don't like red for me). I've only had her 2 weeks and she already @ 661 miles. I can't ride anymore until 6/30 when I bring her in for her 600 mile service, but I can't stay off her. I just wanna ride her all night LONG.... Thank goodness their were no used Duc for sale.

Yup, there is not much in the way of Duc parts on there now, but there will be.

I did have the opportunity to race a 748 a while back. I was racing an Aprilia at the time and my buddy who had lots of money but not much talent, had a Yellow 748, and I loved it. I got a chance to race it and did well, and it crushed him that I blew his best track time away by almost 7 seconds a lap. Since then I wanted a yellow one. Then I saw the Black S model, that is for sure cool, but is it worth it? I dont plan on racing it. I have broke 17 bones to date racing. Last Sept. I broke my back, and now the family is a little less supportive. So I dont really need the Ohlins suspension, or lighter wheels of the S model. I just want the color.

But I am for sure excited to own my first Ducati. I am old enough to appreciate it and take care of it.

This is my first Duc too, a yellow one, if had for about two weeks now, I waited a month and a half after I put my deposit down, I hardly slept during that time, laying there just thinking about the bike. I am sooo happy. Congrats man!!!

I have had so many and never regret it. I allways get a new bike that makes me happy, or whats the point of doing it.

That and the wife is in charge, I wont lie. I have 2 seperate bike payments now. The CBR and a CRF. So I had to let one go to buy the new one.

The call was easy.
