Went to my local dealer today and purchased a new white 848 I can't wait to get it! To bad I live in minnesota and when I will be picking it up in January it will be 10 below outside I don't think I have been this excited for a bike in a long time! Also ordered my HID headlights today for it and a carbon front fender! Can't wait to see one in person at our local dealer's 848 launch party in december!

Nice work! I am very envious, though I am not envious of living somewhere that it gets to 10 below and not being able to ride it. I am happy for the year round riding I get to enjoy...even if I have to endure the odd 30+ (Celcius) day in full leathers.

I agreed to buy my 1098s last November, '06, sight unseen, six months prior to the first 1098 being delivered! To that end, I left a deposit and entered into a sales agreement without even knowing what the bike would cost me. There's nothing to understand. Sometimes you just gotta have blind faith. Trust in all things Ducati. It's kinda like believing in God!

God is a dude working for Ducati Same here 1098s was on order before they even had test bikes .... I am trying out a 848 in the next couple of weeks to replace my Gixxer as my commuter bike though :naughty:

My dealer also quoted me $14,400 otd.... I am not really buying the bike blind I have riden plenty of ducati's before, 748, 998, 1098.... So I know what I am getting and couldn't be more excited for it. I know I wasn't this excited about my last bike, damn honda 600rr..... All I did for the hid kit was go to google and type in hid kit and it will pull up a bunch of web sites and companies that sell them. look around and find a kit that you like and shop around for the pricing... Just for reference the bulbs are H11's, both low & high beams.

Maybe it's time to pay a visit to my cousins in N.Y.C. !!

Where did you get the HIDs for the 848 and for how much? I definitely want them for mine when it gets here!

Go on Ebay and look up the seller burkemotopros, that's where I got mine for the 1098, hi & lows, complete with relay, harness and fuses; $175.00.
I went with this because HID use a lot less amps to power the light but uses a lot more to ignite the bulb so I didn't want to take a chance with a possible wire melt down and went for relays, just in case. Just a suggestion!

Just got home from the dealership with my new toy my pearly white 848.... Has all of 1 mile on it not from me And I can't ride it due to the weather, 20's and snow here....damn snow! It is the most beautiful bike I have ever seen, the pearl white is amazing. My hid kit will be here saturday, so looks like I will be installing them when I get off from work I will take some pics and post them when I get the kit installed... I went with the 10000k kit for a nice deep blue, can't say enough of how great the bike is and sounds and how pleasant my buying experience was at my dealership....(motoprimo) All I have to look forward to now is the first ride, which probably won't be till march or april because of the weather in minnesota.

I too just got the call from MotoPrimo to let me know that my 848 is in and I will be picking her up tomorrow! We should set out on the maden voyage and meet sometime in the spring. Later.
