My rant about desmo-racing.com

My experience with desmo-racing so far.

My first order was a quick sprocket and quick sprocket carrier.

Between payment and delivery was one month.
Nothing to complain so far.

Second purchase was a ergal split belt roller timing kit in other words; a lightweight ergal pulley set for a Ducati 848.

Ordered just before Christmas and arrived nicely just after Christmas before the new year.

After receiving the pulleys all the troubles started. :(

The pulleys I received where not for a Ducati 848 , but for an Ducati 1098. A stupid mistake made by a lot suppliers who assume a 848 has the same specifications as an 1098.

The pulleys where off by a few millimetre and off-course did not fit. And the most funny odd part where the spacers. They were heavier than the stock ones.

I mailed back to let them know they made a mistake. No harm done.

Guess what.....that was not possible and I was the one that had made the mistake.

After remeasuring and taking pictures and sending them as confirmation/proof, there still was some disbelieve.

After they measured them on their so called own 848 they confirmed there was an mistake. In the meanwhile I already send the pulleys back.

We agreed, they would fix the mistake and I would wait for the pulleys and spacers.

After several mails I finally received a message; the pulleys were ready. One month later that is!!

So what about the spacers????
They weren't ready yet.......aargh.

More then two months have passed and several mails have been send.

I am still waiting for the spacers and pulleys!!!

Lately communication has been trouble some.
And some irritation is beginning to show from the side of desmo-racing. Mainly because, according to them, I mail them every day.

In the last period I have been mailing them once or twice in 10 days. Mainly due to the fact I have received several mail claiming the spacers would be ready in 10 days.

Communication seems to have stopped.

I am pretty fed up with all of this crap, as you can imagine. I think I have been pretty patience so far.

I know they read this forum, due to pictures being used from this site for promotional use of their products.

I am wondering if there are other forum members familiar with this company and who had similar problems.

Any input is welcome.

Thanks for reading.

End of my rant. ;)

I feel your pain I'm still waiting for my main gear puller because the seller thought if it works on a 1098/1198 it will work on a 848. Not one single tool has worked :( ordered last Christmas..

Thanks T.

Ordering online from abroad has definitely it's benefits and has opened many possibility's.
But when things don't go as planned, shit hits the fan pretty quickly.
And you as customer, pretty much always get the short end of the stick.

When you the consumer has these problems the best thing to do is what you did, let people know. Alot of company's out there that would appreciate your hard earned money and wouldn't argue with you over who made the mistake just that it was fixed and your a happy customer

I am in the market for these and was looking @ the fore mentioned company but now I will move on to the next company or forgot the mod all together.

Yup... 'Word-of-Mouth', one of the best forms of advertising. Be it 'Good', or... 'Bad'. This is why retailers need to be careful of how they treat their customers in this, the 'Online' age. Word can travel very quickly!!!

One of the reasons I posted this. Not trying to discredit any one, but merely as a heads-up.

As a future customer you can decide for yourself to take this endeavour. Yay or Nay.

If there or any updates regarding the order I will post them here.

Hope this will be help-full for any one, that is looking for some information or feedback.

Cheers.

Got a friendly message regarding the whole mess. The reason and the long waiting time.

The pulleys are on the way, but still waiting for the spacers though.

At-least things start to move........

And installed with new belts....... :)

Fingers crossed for the spacers.
Would be nice to have them, when the belts need a recheck.

Hope you get your spacers soon. Thx for the info about their customer service. Whether good or bad, it helps fellow riders make a calculated decision on whether to purchase from a certain manufacturer or not.
Still no spacers..........................
Sadly, but as expected.....no spacers.

Will ask for a refund regarding the spacers.

They should be emailing you ever day with updates! Anyone selling, mass produced, non-custom parts in the year 2015 should not be in business if they can't deliver an order in MONTHS!

Off topic, but I've purchased a rather big piece of photo/video equipment from a start-up company in Korea. Literally, this giant package showed up the very next day! Free shipping too!

Sorry about your troubles man.

Had to send a reminder about the refund, and got it a day later.

Just another excuse to add to the list.

Any-ways I am done with desmo-racing.

Hello,

I will add my experience that I am still facing with desmo-racing support.

At January 21 I purchased Ducabike levers for MTS 620 and the levers were defective.
I send them photos in order to find a solution but they seem to not want to understand or are very “slow” to understand.
Anyway, I send the same photos to Ducabike and the Ducabike’s support immediately understand the problem and they proceed send a new part towards Desmo-racing.
The desmoracing now has my new part from Ducabike and guess what they do, they send my new part via letter express without tracking number without barcode!
The new part possible lost, as I can not track it and they do not do refund!
Awful company, still trying to find a solution with refund.

Ps1.Keep Away your money from Desmoracing, Find a legit store to purchase a Ducabike!

Ps2. I think from the photos even you do not know what is this you can understand the differences
