I changed the pressure plate and now when I am idle I have rev the bike high to get it to move. It feels as though the plate is catching than releasing as I move forward.

sounds like pressure plate is not lined up with correct post ( the one with the groove on it ) it must lie up with dot on pressure plate

thanks I will take off and make sure. is there any way to check this while the plate is on

You don't need to remove your pressure plate, just remove the springs one at a time till you see the hash mark on your clutch basket post. It might be ligned up. Just out of curiousity, are your keeper bolts tightened all the way?

yes, they are hand tighten. should I try to tighten them some more.

Yes, what was the problem, you never know when one of us may find ourselves in the same boat.

The plate was not line up, once the plate was line up the bike worked fine.
