Sup gang,

I'm trying to fix the severe undersprung rear on my S by going from the stock 8.5 Ohlins to a 10.5.

I can't really find any website that sells differing spring types, so I went straight to Ohlins North America and the dude there wants my serial number off my spring.

Granted, I can read, but I'm out of country for a while so I'm hoping one of you can jot it down and send it my way so I can order it now so it'll be home when I get back.

Thanks,
Word

The number, Mike, Jerry, or Stacy, at Ohlins USA, are asking for is the shock part number. It is a DU511.

The stock spring on an "S" is not a "8.5".
It is a 80 Nmm spring.
The spring part number for a stock spring is a 01091-24-80

Here is a list for you to pick from. The Nmm rate are the last numbers.
01091-24-80
01091-26-85
01091-29-90
01091-31-95
01091-34-100
01091-36-105
01091-39-110
01091-39-115

If you want to give me a call I can help you pick the correct spring for your weight.
We use the stock spring, 80 Nmm, with greatly reduced preload for a rider with gear weight of 140-160 lbs.

Whats the best way to get ahold of you? I'm interested in suspension advice for this bike but I'm not sure if you want to just be handing out free advice to anyone that asks, I know its a business for you.

Thanks Dan. Its great to have an online supplier willing to share their knowledge/experience with the rest of us rather than trying to hide them away in some little book of "Trade secrets". You suspension info is really helpful. Got my spring ordered and as soon as it lands will get it fitted.
