...as in ACTUAL neutral, where it's supposed to be between first and second gear. :p

I don't know if this is typical for this clutch (this is my first Ducati), but when I'm at a stop (say, at a light) with the bike running and in gear, I can't seem to find neutral. If the wheels are moving (like if I pull in the clutch while I'm still rolling), or I shut off the bike, then I have no problem shifting to neutral. I have been able to get it to shift to neutral if I rev the motor a little at a stop, but it's hit or miss. My best bet is to shift to neutral before I stop, otherwise I'm stuck (and my hand starts to cramp).

Anyone else experienced this? I did try calling the dealership where I bought the bike, but they seem to be sleeping in this morning.

It is a normal character of a sequential shift transmision. Rock the bike back and forth while blipping the throttle slightly, you may eventually find neutral. I usually try to get it to neutral before fully stopped. It will get easier once the tranny broken in and you get used to it as well.

I had the same problem after installing a slave cylinder and not bleeding the system properly. bled the system a second time and then I had no problem finding neutral when fully stopped. since the bike is new, I would suggest taking it back to the dealer and having them bleed the clutch.
