Hi all,

Just wanted to drop a line and say hello. Recently picked up my bike about 3 weeks ago now and have really been enjoying it.

I previously had an R6 and thoroughly enjoyed that bike but felt like it was time for an upgrade. This is only my second bike but I know I'll be keeping her indefinitely. I rode the heck out of my R6 (~21,000mi) and plan on doing the same with this bike. No modifications to the bike and likely nothing besides some Rearsets and a sag setup. The bike is leaps and bounds more capable than I am as a rider.

Aside from the hot start issue, I had a question about the fit and finish of the bike. Maybe I just didn't go over the R6 with as finely as I have with the 899 but there are some parts on the bodywork where the paint work seems... Off for a bike of this caliber coming out of Italy. Also, some weird looking adhesive surrounding the tail light enclosure. Maybe it's just me or maybe I'm making things out to be a bigger deal than they really are. Just curious if anyone had seen anything similar on their bikes.

Anyhow, glad to be here. I'm also on the 899panigale.org forums. Lots of great help so far!

Welcome to the forums!

Yea, I agree about Ducati's fit and finish on the Panigale, its very odd in some places. Remember, the design is all-new, nobody has made an assembly-line, mass produced, frameless motorcycle like the Panigale before. So there are some "glitches" in the design/assembly for sure. In terms of the paint, yea its always sucked on Ducati's. Never quite understood why, but whatever… its a boutique brand, limited production numbers and you should be riding, not looking at the bike anyway! LOL :)
