Thought some of you carbon heads, like myself, might enjoy this. A new CF butt pad cover from Carbon World. Fits like a glove over your OEM butt pad and stays put with some silicone. Looks GREAT with the CF vents!

CF over padding

Looks nice man...I'm thinking about similar treatment for my butt and tank pads. Curious to know how you think the solution will hold up, being adhered to the vinyl and all.

By the way, can I recommend getting a black or red logo painted and cleared on that puppy? Maybe DUCATI on the butt pad and 1098 or DESMO in each vent, read from the opposite side of the bike...

As long as you use a good autmotive grade sealent, it should hold up just fine. The CF cover weighs next to nothing, and being that it form fits the pad, with just enough silicone, it'll stay put...

As for a logo, not a bad idea. You can always get a decal, throw it on, and then have it cleared over...

Good to know

I have already asked my dealer to order the Shift-Tec ones but have been a bit doubtful about actually applying them...thanks.

As for the decal, that's true. But if you find a good painter like I did, it probably won't cost you much if at all to clear over the decal versus the painter's paint job. If you don't mind sending out your parts (winter?) I'll be happy to refer you to my painter. You saw my front fairing pics (the in yo' face ones...), his work is flawless.

I'm a new believer in the painting...never really explored it before. It's a very cool way to permanently customize your bike like nobody ever can.

Wow, that looks pretty good. I was never really interested in the seat vents, but with that butt cover it makes it all look good.

the decal idea on the pad is another nice touch too...boy there's no end...

Ain't that the truth...

I have modded cars and SUVs in the past and I could have never imagined the mods and upgrades to spend money on for my Duc!

Oh come on! Who here actually cares about the weight saving properties of carbon fibre when it comes to such small parts? I have never heard of anyone who buys a set of carbon fibre seat vents so they can save the 0.001 grams of weight over the standard factory ones. I can save more weight by taking a shit before going for a ride. Its a whole different story if you're replacing the wheels or the fairings with carbon where a substantial weight saving can be made but a butt plug? The only reason I would buy one is that it looks good.

If anyone is interested they also sell them here -

Not sure if they are just a cover thats siliconed on but considering its off their race bike and its $329 AU I wouldn't think so.

I agree completely

Taking a shit before going for a ride is a very good thing to to. Especially if your suspension was dialed in when you were on empty...

:silly:
