So excited for next week! Brainerd short course on sunday, Brainerd long course on Monday...then mess around in MN and WI for a couple of days and track days at Road America on Thursday and Friday! Might even stay an extra day to watch some of the CCS races. Too bad I don't have my license or else I would've taken part in a couple. Should be a fun week. Hope the weather stays clear.

If you stay for the CCS races @ RA, drop by and say hello to my good friend Charley Mavros, racing some very nice Ducatis out of MotoCorse in Fla. He just won 5 races @ Homestead last weekend. I will have something in his trailer. Ask him about it!!! :)

Now I'm a bit curious...what is it? And how do I know who to look for? There will be hundreds of people there, so unless he's got his name printed in big letters on his trailer, chances are I won't run into him....and no I'm not going to go by everyone asking them if their name is Charley! :p
Well so far so good...BIR was great! Since it was freshly paved last year the track is super smooth! Surface is almost flawless. The long course with that fast straight and the first 2 turns was absolutely insane! So much fun! Now on to Road America for a couple of days.

I will be there riding Thursday and racing sat and Sunday. You could take learning curves sat and race Sunday!
What number are you? I'll keep an eye out when i walk around the paddock. We'll be there as soon as gates open tomorrow.

Pics will come later. I didn't take many but others did.
So I made it through BIR just fine, then at RA I almost ran over a guy that crashed in front of me as I was lining up to pass him in T8 (missed him by a couple of feet), than I tucked the front in T6 but somehow saved it (I felt my elbow touch the ground)....all went well, and when we got back, we dropped my bike in the driveway! Not even sure how it happened...it was sitting fine for like 5+ minutes, and then all of a sudden, SLAM!...look over and my bike's laying on the ground :wtf:

Well, shit. I've had the same thing happen....3 days at Tally without issues, get home and while unloading and pushing the bike to the garage, slipped on wet grass and dropped the bike. :( All I could say was "at least it didn't happen at the track".

So is there any damage?

Bent shift lever and left footpeg will have to be replaced, other than that, just a couple of scratches, no big deal.

I'm so fatigued after a weekend at the track I usually have to leave the bike in the trailer for at least a day or two before I dare to take it out.

Yep, my bikes stay in the van most of the time. I barely make it home after a trackday/race, let alone have enough energy to unload.

First time I tried to unload fatigued, my 749R fell off the ramp and I landed on it, the foot peg practically putting a hole in my side.
Shit,... you guys are weird!! I can't wait to get home with my bike after a race week, an take it apart to see how it preformed...... One of the great pleasures in life. If I have time between races, I strip it down to the frame and check every part/nut/bolt, and usually drain all the fluids and replenish. Do the same with my truck, trailer, and support equipment........ Life is good. Racing is fun.

In my case I didn't have a choice. I went with someone else who has a toy-hauler trailer and lives 50 miles away from where I live, so my car and trailer were parked at his house while we were gone. He also isn't allowed by the homeowner's association from his neighborhood to leave his trailer at his house for more than it takes to load/unload stuff, so we had to unload everything quick, and then i had to load everything in my car and bike on my trailer and head home. Generally, yes I agree with you guys....when I typically get back after a track day I park in the garage, go take a shower and lay down on the couch for the rest of the evening :D

As many practice sessions and races as I did in any given weekend, I was toast when it was over. Hell, packing out the pit was a chore! I rode B and C Production and Superbike, as well as the Solo 20's WERA used to run. Never skipped a practice session either, except the one time I crashed....though I did get back on and go faster later in the day :D

As promised, here's some pictures from BIR taken by Steve Diamond Elements. They take some great quality pics, though I'm a bit disappointed in their lack of variety (they only took pics from just a few locations). I was really hoping he snapped a shot of me giving the photographer a thumbs up mid-corner going through the last turn on the Competition course, but it wasn't there :(

There's quite a few good ones from Road America as well, but at $25/each I most likely won't buy any of them. The ones at BIR cost $30 for ALL pictures.
