I have a 2010 1198 with the oil pressure sensor attached the oil cooler line. My dog chewed off the sensor and the wire. I got a new connector and oil pressure sensor but I can't find where the wire is in the wiring harness. Can anybody help me with this?

Brian and Dutch--I was planning to post a new thread on a similar topic regarding this sensor and its wire. I want to relocate my 09 848's sensor from the clutch-side crankcase cover to the oil cooler line; Ducati didn't upgrade the 848s until 2012 I believe.

Do you guys know if this wire has a plug or will it have to be cut and spliced back together? I'm pretty sure my existing 848 wire is gonna be too short, and if I do this upgrade I believe the wire will need to be replaced as well.

The oil cooler line sensor location change isn't an upgrade in my opinion. You want to read oil pressure at the oil pump, which is the port on the side of the case.

I don't know why they moved the oil pressure sensor. I assume they had a good reason to change it.

It's my understanding from a veteran race engine builder that it was relocated because vibrations from the engine were causing the sensor to malfunction. I experienced the malfunction first hand last year and that's why I am looking in to the feasibility of moving it; If I don't relocate it, I'll probably just buy an extra sensor to have on hand for the next time that it malfunctions.

I'm still undecided...
