Anybody else getting the oily film that continues to re-appear on the tail right behind the seat, around the key and vent area?
I clean and wax but comes back after every ride, something from under the seat like the pipe is fogging the tail up with crap, very frustrating.

I'm not getting a film, I get little black dots everywhere! Drive me nuts! Simple terry cloth wipes them right off but it's annoying.

I have the same thing. My guest is this is coming from the pipe. I run full Termi's and on the rich side. I notice when I do a long ride where high speed was unloved.

Black dots....is probably your chain lube.....no ?

I have slip-ons, so I doubt it's the pipe. I'm not sure if it's the chain lube because I would think it's semi-dry by now at least not flyin everywhere. I thought it was hot bits of rubber from the tires or maybe asphalt?

Yup, just the fumes/gas from the new materials...I am assuming mostly from the seat cushion.
Similar to a new car that always fogging up the winshield. Was annoying for a few weeks, I keep on waxing that seat cowl and it would reappear in a couple of days. It is gone for good now.
