I browse both this forum and a couple of other Ducati related forums.

This one seems to be the best for other Ducati models, but www dot ducati dot ms seems a better Multistrada sub forum.

The other one is www dot multistrada dot net. Although a dedicated Multistrada domain, it gets minimal foot traffic.

Ok. First ride report... WOW! 50 miles home and the only negative thing I can say is it runs a bit hot, but holy crap is this thing amazing. Very flick able and stable at speed had me railing through the twistes!

I was just laughing inside my helmet the whole way home. The skyhook is amazing! I did manage to bottom our once on the forks, but it was a big bump and I was flying. Might add a click of preload.

Also, got one false neutral in second, kind of unnerving.

Is there any way to switch to gp shift? What about a quickshifter?

Also, the seat seems to have me sliding forward a bit, does this change with break in?

Looking forward to many miles!

When you say it is stable at speed what sort of speed are you talking about ??

On another site some are suggesting its a bit nervous at speed and in need of a steering damper.

I cant quite make out if you have the red contrast stitching on your seat (assuming you have the S model) as I'm finding some markets get red and some get black on their S models

I would like a steering damper, more for corner exits, than upright stuff.

It doesn't absolutely need it, but I think it would enhance the feel. The bike didn't do anything that was scary, but with the wide bars, it'll react very quickly to the slightest input.

I ran a lot of highway north of 85mph. I ran it up north of 120mph a couple of times, didn't go faster than an indicated 129mph as I had the panniers on and they are supposedly rated for 112mph.

I do have red stitching on the seat, but not on the box, so that is a little weird. I would say in the 80s as I did not the the highway.
Felt stable in turns to me... But I only did about 60 miles

I just added the Healtech QSE to my '12 MTS, should work great on the 15, simple install and works amazing.

Just signed for my new dvt with urban and touring packages.
Congrats... It's an awesome bike!

Yeah, mine runs hot also... Not too bad on the highway though. Def wouldn't like to ride gridlock with it everyday.

I've had quite a few false neutrals...

Yes, the seat does tend to slide the rider forwards. I use an Airhawk R seat pad... it helps reduce the 'slide'.

I'm currently at 2400km and have had three minor glitches so far... First was the cruise control would not set speed on the highway. I refuelled at a highway roadside gas station and got back on the highway. Tried to set the CC but no go. The system would turn on, as indicated on the dash... but it wouldn't 'set speed'. Tried several times... nadda! It turns out that before the CC can be 'set', it needs to 'see' a brake input. If you don't apply the brake between the time you fire up the electrics, and the time you try to set speed, it won't allow you to do so. The hard copy user manual that was issued with the bike, mentions nothing of this issue. However, the online downloadable user manual 'does', in fact (page 160) mention that the computer needs to 'see' a brake input prior to cruise activation.

Also, while on the highway, with the CC activated, I used the twist grip CC deativation switch. The cruise shut off, but I had no throttle. Slowed down a tad, tried to speed up... and nadda! I then noticed the check engine light was on. The fastest I was able to go was 97km/hr. I pulled off at the next exit, stopped, and shut it down. I waited 10 minutes then fired her up again. The engine sounded as it should but the check engine light was still on. Got back on highway and all was good... full throttle. The CE light eventually went out. But wait... it happened again. Limited throttle and CE light on. Pulled off the highway again to shut down for another reboot... As it was raining, I found a retail store overhang to park under to get out of the rain... Just after I stopped, I noticed steam coming from the steering head area with a slight burning smell... What tha??? I'm thinking something has gone awry with the cooling system... I'm thinking WTF? My brand new bike is falling apart... Okay, so I fire her back up... get back on the highway with full throttle once again. CE light still on... I get home and put her on the side stand... Hot, steaming water, comes gushing out from the radiator area. It was water, not coolant. Wow! What a ride from hell... The CE light is still on at this point. I let her sit overnight... Fired up the electrics the next morning and the CE light was now out. I called the dlr to make appointment to have her scanned... The tech cleared the error codes and said that he 'thinks' (ha... more like 'hopes') that it was just a CC glitch. He said if it happens again, they will have to investigate further...

As far as the 'waterfall' is concerned... the Tech said I will have to live with it for now, but if more MTS owners complain about the issue, Ducati will probably issue a Service Bulletin with a 'fix'... I'm not too worried as I don't plan on riding in the rain very often... Obviously the rain water is pooling up on the radiator and getting hot... Probably not a big issue... but at the same time, it's not right...

Just thought I'd give you a heads-up...
