I installed the power commander and quick shifter at the same time. i refitted all the parts and went for a test ride. went about 15 miles normal riding and every thing was great. I then decided to test this thing out. I went 100% throttle threw 1st gear then quick shifted into 2nd at about 8500rpm. then at about 9000rpm in 2nd gear (front tire at about 2 oclock) i heard a pop as if i hit the rev limit and the engine light came on with code 13.1. it is now only running on the front cilinder. The code 13.1 shows problem with vertical injector. im running the full term. system map.
please help

ya rear injector seems to be connected correct. I hope i dont need to remove this thing because it took 1 hour and a half to get the front injector on. I need to get it to the dealer to get the engine light off.

Hey, it was a WAG! I hope you get it sorted. I am talking with the dealer about setting up mine with the PC III USB with a custom map. I had made a post on that topic to see if anyone else has done it yet. Still searching.... I found a few other options... I'll make another post when I get more details. BTW, I replied to your PM.

After installing the PC, I got a trouble light and the front cylinder wasn't firing. Traced it to the front injector connector. Because access was very tight, I had to pull on the injector wire(s) in order to remove. I found that the individual wires were not fully captured/sealed within the connector. Pulling on the wire caused one of the female blade slots to pull back into the connector far enough that the male blade in the new PC connector did not seat properly. Check inside each of the original connectors to make sure both female blade slots are aligned and far enough out to accept the new PC male blades.

no my problem is with the back cylinder, but you are right the front one was a pain in the butt to remove. I built a tool to get in and remove the spring clip. I'm taking it to the dealer tomarrow to have them clear the code and find out why the light came on. btw for anyone who is doing the install dont save time by not removing the tank all the way. I proped mine up to the check the connections when i got the engine light and it fell off the bike. That was a very costly timer saver!!!!

Power Commander III USB

Hi guy's,

What PCIII USB did you use? Did you do away with the 02 sniffer? I’m also looking to use a PCIII on my Hypermotard once I start playing with it!!!
If you are asking which PC III USB???...... We are talking about the 1098 application and as far as I know that is all I looked at on their web site. You can check out their site to see if there is a version available for the Hypermotard.

Yes they do and I got the very first one in the UK complete with a custom map, all for free !!!

They needed a bike to make notes for their dealers on any fitting problems etc and they have to make a base map before they can sell the products so it is in their interest to 'give one away' to enable them to test it on a bike.

I was just lucky enough to be the first to get in there !

I have just installed a PCIII to my 1098. The O2 sensor is a problem. On the PC web site they say you can’t map below 19% and 5250 rpm. This is because of the servo operated exhaust valve that only opens above 5000rpm.The way to get around this is when mapping on a dynojet, the lambda probe of the dunojet should be plugged directly onto the exhaust manifold where the bikes lambda probe goes (instead of being shoved up the bikes exhaust pipe). Most guys have not put the bikes lambda probe back after setting up. You can’t remove it else the engine management light stays on. What I have done is made a metal cap to put over it and cable tied it to the frame of the bike. Collecting the bike on Friday, will let you know how she runs!!!! :D
