Hey guys I have done a search and read all I can on the Acculign and Sato rearsets but I still can't make up my blooming mind :(

My problems are two-fold ... can't decide whether I prefer black or silver firstly. Secondly I prefer the look of the Acculign and they seem more adjustable. However the Sato version 2,s come with a brake lever as well which seems to tip the scale in their favour as the Acculigns don't have a brake lever.

Guess I am asking if the Accu's are a lot better than the Sato's or is it 50/50???

Let me make your mind up for you. I have both sets. For me the Acculigns look to clinical and flimsy. The silver colour is not good either. RE the Sato's they are far more substantial and look bespoke. They fit in with the character of the bike perfectly and the silver looks great. The Sato's IMO are the best you can get and are way under priced for whatthey are. Def go for the type 2. The only thing I didn't like about them is the 1098 engraving on the heal guards but if you go to Dan Kyle he has the heal guards without this. Don't worry to much about adjustment as you'll find a position you like and never change it. You don't need the micro adjustment cam of the Acc's.

Thanks for the response. I do like the Sato's and would prob go with the Black ones. I have one other question after looking at their site.... The adjustments seem to be only forward and up of the stock setting??? I would have expected there to be adjustment back and down as well.

The Sato's get my vote. I think the only thing I don't like about them is the engraving of "1098" on them... However, I run them on my 600RR, good stuff!

I'd go with the black.

You need to decide how much bling you want, and how much adjustability you want. I wanted both. Am I the only one on here who considers DP? What about these? http://www.ducati.com/shop/product.jsp?_DARGS=/shop/search/droplets/ddd_boxproduct.jsp_A&_DAV=/shop/search/advsearch.jsp&catid=cat1030157&prodid=prod1070104&srch=true

They're both blingy and, from experience using similar ones on my 999S, extremely adjustable. (Plus these have more black in them which I would have preferred dammit!) Either that or call BCM 603-524-4898 and they can make you a custom set. They won't be as blingy but they are billet race quality and many local racers use them.

Or what about these??? http://www.ducati.com/shop/product.jsp?_DARGS=/shop/search/droplets/ddd_boxproduct.jsp.2_A&_DAV=/shop/search/advsearch.jsp&catid=cat1030157&prodid=prod1070102&srch=true

What? You want MotoGP shifting? BAM http://www.ducati.com/shop/product....catid=cat1030157&prodid=prod1160106&srch=true

Shit or get off the pot! :p

Unless you're as lanky as Rueben Xaus you won't need any down and rear adjustment. These are race rear sets after all and designed to get your knees up higher. I'm nearly 6 feet tall and, with the standard rear sets my knees would mark the fairing....now thay don't.

Im 6'1" and the Sato's are perfect for me. Im running the black ones on my tri and I had silver ones on my r6. They are great style, excellent feel - really make you feel connected to the bike - and they:

1) Save your bike when you crash (I did twice on the R6 - lowside at Laguna Seca and a Highside at Thunderhill) they collapsed a little on impact but still saved the side of my bike.

2) Are easy to get replacement parts from Sato if such a crash does occur (you dont have to buy a whole new set).

Engraving or not didnt matter to me, rear brake or not didnt matter to me either.

I went with quality and performance I knew.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Hmm getting closer still a few questions.

1.) Never thought about the DP parts ... anyone have pics of them installed on the bike.
2.) I am 6'2 so that was why I was a bit worried about the adjustment on the Sato's ... ?
3.) Will Acculign bring out a rear brake lever at some stage?

Current feel ... 60% Sato LOL ..... :conveyer:

I like the Satos myself...not sure how they'll compare to the DPs. But I can tell you with certainty that you will not regret the DPs if you are truly looking for a perfect setting for you. They have micro adjustments to them, unbelievable. Hence why mine were about a grand. (I didn't pay that though, paid about what the Satos cost)

Just an FYI because I notice people gravitate toward certain brands etc but DP has some real quality stuff that gets overlooked. My rearsets kick the shit out of anything else I have seen on a XX9, other than BCM's full racing setups.

Sure but they are probably too large and I'm at work with no access. Send me a PM with your e-mail and remind me, I'll send them ASAP.
