Did you:
1) Pay MSRP
2) Pay below MSRP
3) Pay above MSRP
akira,

I bought my bike at Martin Eurosports, in Coopersburg, PA. They charge everybody the same amount for a 1098: $200.00 dollars off MSRP, no "set up " fees, and reasonable "shipping" fees.

Wow, that's really great info, Elton. Cool deal. I already put a downpayment on mine for MSRP, but i'm curious if they will still budge if i have some ammo. They do give me really great discounts on accessories, but i'm thinking most dealerships already do that...

I was second on the list for the first white (actually the first 848, period) from my dealer. When the #1 guy backed out, it went to me. I tried to talk the dealer down, but he just smiled and reminded me that there was a wait list, and its a Ducati ;). I paid MSRP, around $15k out the door. I was able to get him to throw in a free canyon dancer strap :D, better than a kick in the pants I guess.

Being a Ducati dealer in Silicon valley with a big wait list, they can ask whatever they want. When I bought my 2000 CBR929RR, I wanted the red/white paint. Local dealers were charging $1000 extra for that color scheme just because they could get it. I had to leave the Bay Area to find a dealer that wasn't jacking the price. I guess its all in where you live.

Paid MSRP up here in Eastern Canada, I was #2 for a white 848, but the #1 guy said he would wait, I jumped on it, cause you never know what could happen.

They did give me 20% off some Ducati accessories, and are delivering it to me and picking up my 636 I traded in, its a 2 1/2 hour drive.

hey ahtune69,
went to riverside moto. they have a red 848 in the showroom, and i asked to get one ordered for a mid-march delivery. trying to sell my '07 monster 695 in the meantime. did you get an 848 yet? i haven't gone to the ducati dealership in Beverly or Worcester. Do you have any experience with them or do you go to Riverside Moto?

Akira I'm not too sure on the 848 but narrowed it down to a 999r or 1098s. I was at riverside wed and they had a red 848 there which hasn't been sold yet. It looks pretty sweet but i think for the $$ I would spend a few more grand and pick up a used 999r or 1098s. I've had a 996 for seven yrs and finally traded for a husky sm510, now I miss the ducati twin that send chills whenever it comes alive.

your logic makes sense...
do you think they're going to give me the red one on the floor? i asked for a new one... i said mid-march. i'm gonna be pissed if they give me the floor model. guess i'll have to ask them. have you gone to the dealerships in beverly or worcester? any feedback?
good luck with your purchase and keep me posted. i'll be in town if you want to get a group together to ride.

Akira You could ask carlo if he'll sell you the one thats on the floor, I don't think there is any prob with that bike cause it's only 3 weeks old. If your not in any rush than just wait till march and get the one you want. I'm shooting down to beverly tomorrow to checkout some of the stuff they have, as for wagners in worcester they have some pretty neat stuff there also.

I do a lot of group rides during the summer with a bunch of guys from the nesr forum, go checkout the site it's a good group of guys. What part of boston are you from? I live in Needham 8 miles out from boston we should hook up and ride sometime.

Akira if ya can't get the bike sold see what the dealers will give ya for a trade in, during the slow season you might get a little more than during the peak season. The dealers will prob give ya a little more to get the deal done imo. I'll let ya know if I see anything interesting today.

I did level 1-4 at the keith code superbike school and I thought it was well worth it. I think any school you attend is better than any mod you do for you and ur bike. I was looking at the freedie spencer and may consider it in the future. If it wasn't so far from me I wouldv'e done it a long time ago and plus I hate flying. Oh I forgot I also did the star school at loudon last yr with jason pridmore and it was ok. The instuctors were not as plentiful like keith codes but I did get to ride double up with jason for two laps around the track and that itself was worth the trip. So you have many options around this area if you ever want to do something thats not across the country.
