I wanted to "fair" in a couple of housings for the lights but there's just no place to do it well. I don't care for the lights in the vents due to visibilty restriction. So I hacked up the stockers, made a pair of brackets and did this. Not the greatest but not that horrible either. I'll have to look at it for awhile and see if they stay or go. Feel free to comment +or-. Jason you owe me one anyway for my frame plug comment. Gimme' your best shots.

honestly
they look horrible (imo)
I'm going to have to 2nd that one. While I dislike the stocks, I'd rather just not have any than do something like that.

Maybe get some smaller blinkers and have them come out next to the plate,

Well if you MUST HAVE THEM, then these are about the best I've seen. Consider this coming from a guy that can't stand the looks of ANY winkers hanging on a MC, but personally I think you should revisit the vent idea, or possibly an LED taillight integration solution. Just can't have dangling stalks messing with the flowing lines of your beautiful tri.

Visibility restriction? Depends on what you put under there, and if that is not what you like, look up on Ebay, there is a complete replacement for $99.00 from Clear alternatives with 4 different color lens. But please, get rid of those!

You guys trying tell me you don't like the setup? What if I chrome 'em? I have to admit that after looking at it today that it really sucks. And all the feedback has been negative which is hard to ignore. I mean you can't ALL be wrong. So off they come. It was an idea that just didn't work out. Happens.

Thanks for your honest input. I do appreciate it even if none of you have any taste.

I read when you joined that you like to fab, I think it was a good try. I'm sure you'll come up with something we are all going to be jealous of.

A little late to the party, but is there an issue with the heat from the cans with the blinkers sitting that close? :flamethro And, FWIW, it looks a little “after thought” to me, like “Oh, shit, we forgot the blinkers. Just slap them on anywhere.” Though I do admire your tinkering skills!

Hey Cloudrider,
Personally, I think the right side seat vent looks great........LOL! Seriously, I would go with the integrated taillight approach - I think your solution disrupts the lines of the tail of your beautiful bike, and they look a bit pinched.

Good Luck, and happy holidays!

Yea it's a tough croud around here but you're a good sport cloudrider. Any innovator worth his salt will tell ya you gotta run the idea up the flagpole and see if it flies.

La Rossa, could you give me a quick run-down of how you relocated the blinkers. I've been wanting to do the same, but I wanna know whats involved and how long it took before I go jumping into it. Thanks
Quite frankly now that clear alternatives has come out with a whole new set up, I wouldn't bother putting them inside the vents anymore, but is not difficult at all; give and take two hours if you're handy to make a braket for it. I purchased the LED's from a seller "Kerrymark" on Ebay, they have any size, shape and color for you; took the cans off, took the underpan off, made two brackets that mount between the frame and the rear fairing, the bolts go from inside the compartment; ran the wires into the little compartment, mounted two amp suppressor in line so the blinkers won't blink fast any more and put it back together. If you like that look, it's worth the effort, if you just look to put blinkers somewhere, get the integrated unit and you'll be done with it.
I just love to punish myself and tinker with just about anything. Good luck!
Oh, as far as heat, I put some self adhesive heat barrier from Summitracing while the underpan was off.
