So going to a track day my tie down was around the left grip. The bike was on the truck overnight. In the morning the grip was half off. I was able to get it most of the way back on by pushing it but the last 1-2 inches is not happening. I did not want to add oil underneath the grip since I figured it might ocme off on the track.

How do I get the grip back on? Soapy water injected underneath the rubber?

I use the grip for my front tie down. If I use oil or something that will make it easier for the grip to come off, what do I do for the tie down?

here is an old trick we used to use when i was a mechanic.

coke a cola and compressed air. if you don't have a compressor the grip will most likely slip on by itself.

Compressed air or

alcohol. Alcohol will evaporate and not become slippery if it ever somehow gets wet (like in the rain)
