I have installed bar end mirrors on my 1098, and would like to replace the OEM useless mirrors but maintain some sort of blinker set up. Anyone have any suggestions on a clean set up?

Here's an idea: You can buy mirror mount covers in Italian chrome (Carbon fiber) but personally I prefer color-matched. Then replace the parking lights with orange bulbs and connect them to the existing front blinker wires.
