I have done about 300 miles so far this English summer because we are experiencing no global warming so i should really get on my bike more to increse global warming and thus give us Limy's better weather. I dont own a 1098 yet and i am getting to the point where im just gonna jump on my bike in a thunder storm. I cant seem to get my arse on to my bike at the minute, but it cant be that bad. They dont really get that dirty from the rain, my local garage leaves loads of sports bikes out on view all year round and they look great still, i guess im trying to convince myself that rain is alright, that its my friend but im so scarred of it, its just a bike thing but i need to do more milleage to justify buying a 1098 so whos with me, whos gonna come for a ride with me in south London in a thunder storm??

I ride from south london every day, rain or shine. It put hairs on your chest :)

On a serious note, getting the bike wet doesn't bother me, its low siding that scares me big time! I ride like a 2 year old on a trike when its raining.

I see a 1098s i think last week when it was raining by purley way going past the mc donalds drive in, it was pissing it down and that's what made me think! Was it you? I don't need a bike for work as use van but I'm determined to use my 1098 when i get it next year all year round i just need to get past that mental barrier. My current bike is kept round the back of my flat with tarpaulin over it and i find that the tarpaulin collects loads of dirt and mess and actually makes it dirtier than if i left it open all year round, of course i wouldn't want to do this with a 1098 as it would attract even more attention but i can park my car in front of my bike and hide it a bit but if global warming just increased a bit there would be no more rain and a nicer cleaner bike. Being a hypocrite i could just tell my kids in the future that global warming was America and China's fault anyway and forget that the British empire played any part in globalisation and global warming.

I ride passed the McD's on purley way everyday, but I have a base not an S, maybe it was someone else. regarding pirelli's and the wet, that was the first thing i had done. Ive got bridgestone bt014 on, not a bad wet tyre but they just dont do the miles. suppose you cant have it both ways. I cant help but ride mine, dont know what i'll do in winter/ice/snow, going to be severly depressing!!

We are expecting hail today here, and I'll be riding in it. It's only the white lines that give me the heeby jeebys when I get loose on them. But that's motorcycling and I'm a motorcyclist. I love it no matter what and with the gear available today there no reason to be uncomfortable. I've even been tempted to give heated grips a try but winter doesn't last that long anyway. Well best I get off the web and get out there in the weather and RIDE>

im sure it was you as there arent many 1098 and all i saw was the back of you going passed heading to 5 ways and it made me think that if you can do it then i gotta get in the habbit. Wont even think about going fast in the rain though, reminds me of a mate of mine who drove stonned round a bend a night fast through a big puddle and was shocked to aqua plain and nearly crash, i had to explain to him what aqua planning was but he was too stonned, lost his licence 6 months ago.
