I'm nowhere near mechanically inclined, but reading through the forum for the past few days has really inspired me to learn my 848 (and motorcycle mechanics in general) which i'll be taking delivery in mid-March. Woo hoo!

tried searching the forums. one pointed to http://www.duc.nu/manuals/ but the 848 is not there yet....

Anyone else have suggestions on how i can really learn about the parts and mechanics without screwing something up?

Thanks in advance,

Edwin

Jump in! I'm a self taught glorified shade tree mechanic...and proud of it. Buy or down load a manual and start with something simple, you'll need a good set of tools too(can't stress that enough, the PROPER tools for the job make all the difference). You can always use the search feature here for prior threads on wrenching. Once you work on your own bike you'll feel totally different about it, it's like having a emotional connection not just something you ride. Good luck and post some pics of your work.

Anyone have experience with these books?

or should i just wait for the 898 service manual to come out? Again, i am not mechanically inclined, but would like to start somewhere.

thanks!
