I was curious if he was going to get the boot or not. Very mixed results for Smith. I hope he can become more consistent.

Dani, George and Vale just did. :D

Redding and Espargro bros need to be given factory rides and i'm sure they will be able to fight with him.

Jonny has done jack shite in WSBK. He is lucky to get a couple of wins each season. Look at how hard it has been in motogp for the likes of Bayliss,Edwards and Spies. Those 3 wiped the floor in WSBK.

You have to get the guy's from moto3 and moto2 theses days if they are any chance of wining in motogp.

Some of the WSBK guys would do well enough in MotoGP, but not good enough to be win or even be on the podium in my opinion. Guys like Rea, Laverty, Sykes, etc would be battling for 5th at best. Spies mentioned early on in his GP career that a MotoGP bike is a whole new animal, and even though they all look similar, it is VERY different than a WSBK bike. Guys that grew up with prototype bikes, coming from 125's, 250's, or in the newer classes Moto 3 and Moto 2, can adapt quicker due to their experience. Guys that have been riding production-based bikes and are already in their mid 20s or older will not adapt as quick to a MotoGP bike. Rea did ok when he replaced Stoner in 2012, but there's some things to attribute to that in my opinion....first off, he was on the best bike on the grid. Secondly, there was a relatively small grid that year (usually about 17-18 bikes only), and he was running around 6-7th with a couple of guys ahead of him crashing out. Nothing really that impressive, compared to Marquez who put the RCV in the top 3 during his first ever session/test that they ran at the end of 2012.

Slight switch-up… Aprilia have announced they will be working with Gresini next year.

Rider line up to be announced, but appears Marco Melandri will be one of them.

Scott Redding's deal will also be changing, he has no interest in riding the Aprilia.

Avintia racing confirms continuing in MotoGP with Ducati.

They will start the 2015 season on this years FINAL 2014 bike (which is not released as of this posting).

They will also be "open" with Hector Barbera and Mike di Meglio as potential riders.

What a waste of a team...I'm assuming they can't afford any better riders?

Yep, just one more piece of the puzzle. They might as well shut down World Superbikes because the expected exodus is just crazy. There are going to be what, 30 MotoGP bikes on the grid next year with the same 4 guys capable of winning races? Umm… yea, right. ;)

Happy to see Laverty go to MotoGP, but not really excited to see him at the back fighting to get in the top 10 on a shitty bike. He better hope Honda can sort out that RCV1000 for next year, because it sure was hyped up a lot before this season and it turned out to be shit.

I think it'll be nice to see a big grid in MotoGP. Makes for exciting racing, even though it'll still be the same guys running at the front. Sure beats the hell out of the 2011/2012 seasons when there's so few people that as long as 1 or 2 guys crashed out, everyone else scored points! :D

Interesting news indeed..
I thought that Aspar had signed a letter of intent with Baz?
Now this?
Presumably the two are hoping to ride the same bike?
Then there's Hayden?

Going to be interesting to see how this all unfolds..
