Hi, I am new so here it goes. I bought a used 2008 Multistrada 1100S. The steering seems to want to over steer both ways equally. It is so bad I am scared to take any corners. as soon as you start to corner the bike darts that way. I have 3 other bikes of different sizes and none act like this. Please help. I am an automotive mechanic but need help on this. Thanks

I'd start with a tyre pressure check then check the steering head bearings for wear and/or adjustment.

Agree with BOB or replace the front tyre . It is a characteristic of the Multistrada with a worn front tyre .

Absolutely second the front tyre diagnosis.

Quite a small wheel on a big tall bike with longish forks.

The 16" wheels on bigger models used to be extremely sensitive in this way.

So check the pressure, and if it's OK (and the tyre is worn at all, particularly on the sides) replace the tyre.

A lot of modern bikes are very sensitive to tyre wear.

You think there's something seriously wrong with your bike, then you replace the tyres and realise that's all it was.

Hope that is your solution.
