I just picked up my first 1098 (used). The steering head has a knock in it. Anyone out there know how to adjust this. Every time I hit the brakes it has a small knock.
but I thought that I heard something about a bad head bearing on your bikes...contact your dealer just in case I'm right.

I had the same problem. I was told there were problems at the factory properly seating the bearings. Warranty picked up the cost of putting in new. Get them ordered right away as it took several weeks for the shop to get them!
You might want to have a friend sit on the bike and rock back and forth while holding the front brake.
This will give you a better idea of where it's coming from, the full floating front brake disks tend to
make a similar sound and feel but it's part of the normal function.
I did a wheelie on the bike when when it was loose (unaware of it being loose) and I went into a serious tank slapper when I brought the front wheel down. ALMOST dumped it with like 400 miles on it.
Bring it in ASAP and have it straitened out, it is dangerous.
Congrats on the bike, you'll love it!
